Comfort Living Section
At the heart of your home comfort system is the cooling and heating
equipment, which ultimately determine not only your level of personal
comfort, but also the magnitude of your energy costs.
Castellano's commitment to quality and reliability is evident by their
choice of a York cooling and heating system, the premier name in indoor
comfort.

refrigerant, Thermostat, Variable Speed and Extended Warranty sections.
Choosing the Right Components to Maximize Comfort
All air conditioning systems begin with an outdoor unit (1), an indoor
air handler (2), and a control unit (thermostat or zoning system)
(3). York improves your home's comfort level by offering you the
best choices within these three categories as well as options for
cleaner, fresh air and peace of mind.
(1) Heat & Cool
Outdoor Unit: Air Conditioner or Heat Pump
Your home will have an air conditioner or heat pump unit located
outside. Selecting from the three equipment features below will
help you decide which model is best for you.
Your Choice:
SEER Rating
(Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio).
While choosing a higher SEER system may add a few dollars to your
monthly mortgage payment, in most cases you will actually save more on
your monthly utility bills than you're adding to your house payment.
Your Choice:
Single-speed or Two-speed.
Two-speed cooling provides higher efficiency, more consistent
temperature control, quieter operation, and excellent humidity removal.
Your Choice:
Refrigerant: 410A Refrigerant or Freon-22.
Choosing a system that uses 410A refrigerant will allow you to avoid
the potentially rising cost of servicing units with Freon-22
refrigerant, which is currently being phased-out. York high
efficiency systems using 410A refrigerant are its most reliable
ever.
(2) Heat & Cool
Indoor Air Handler: Fan Coil or Gas Furnace
Your Choice:
Single-speed or Variable-speed.
Variable-speed air handlers provide quieter operation, superior
humidity removal, and greater efficiency. They can increase your
system's SEER rating by up to 2 full points, and combined with the
Thermidistat, can remove up to 30 times more moisture than standard
systems.
(3) Control
Temperature and Humidity Control
Your Choice:
Thermidistat or Zoning
The Thermidistat provides central control to maintain your home at
optimum temperature and humidity levels, which minimizes the presence
of bacteria, dusts mites and mold; you can save energy by maintaining
your comfort at higher temperatures. Zoning systems help prevent
hot and cold spots while letting you condition only the areas of your
home that are occupied; you save energy while increasing comfort.
(4) Filter
Air Cleaner
Your Choice:
Electronic or Mechanical air cleaner
Electronic Air Cleaners remove up to 95% of the airborne dust, pollen,
bacteria, and viruses. They have permanent washable electronic
cells, eliminating the need to purchase or replace disposable
filters. Mechanical air cleaners, which have as much as 28 times
the surface area of standard one-inch filters, trap significantly more
particles and require replacement only once or twice a year.
(5) Refresh
Fresh Air Ventilation System
Energy Recovery Ventilators help reduce toxic gases, fumes and odors by
replacing stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air without the wasted
energy of an open door window.
(6) Protect
Extended Warranty and Scheduled Maintenance
Along with York's standard warranties, there are several options for
additional peace of mind to cover your system for up to ten
years. These include extended parts and labor warranties as well
as scheduled maintenance agreements to ensure years of peak performance
and efficiency.
